SAN FRANCISCO, US. In a surprise announcement made by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder and CEO, it has been revealed that Facebook will start charging users for access to it’s service.
“After thinking long and hard about this decision, at the end of the day, we need to make more money. The shareholders come first”.
Shortly after the change user will be prompted to enter their direct debit or card details to continue using the service, if they opt not to do this all their content will be deleted with immediate effect. Facebook did state however that high interest loans will be available to people who can’t pay straight away.
Many families through the UK rely heavily on Facebook to being the latest news, weather and gossip to their homes. This change is likely to have a massive impact on lower earning families with some David Cameron to provide financial aid.
Some believe this is a social cull by Zuckerberg to rid Facebook of those fake news stories and cheeseburger eating cats.
